As we are capable of finding redemption in the arms of one another, likewise in something that is larger than our very own mortal existence.
When we do look towards the future, and use all of our knowledge, of who we are; as mankind, our way of organising, the ideals that we most certainly do embody. How many of our vices will eventually reign supreme,
How many of the choices that we make in the now, will cut our loved ones a thousand times over
And what is it then, that our kin, and those who will tread in their footsteps are capable, capable of drawing hope from. When despair inevitably comes knocking on the doors of humanity.
Will they remember that our actions had meaning, and so do theirs in return. That their actions will have consequences, that will be perceived, experienced, and judged upon. Not solely by their peers, but most by their children. That rules and regulations have always been altered and twisted by the course of history. To let themselves be judged by the ancestors that gave birth to human civilization, instead of mere authority.
And then we wonder, we wonder if our legacy will be of any aid to them, in their time of need. A legacy where temperance has become weakness, a lack of consequences became more and more venerated. And quite bluntly, the fabric of society has become unravelled, our society.
We are just smart enough to understand the catastrophe that mankind has become. However we do lack the collective prudence required to alter our courses properly.
The slivers of hope that still remain, that can be found, that can be forged, that can be embraced. They are forged from the pits of human despair itself. As we are capable of finding redemption in the arms of one another, likewise in something that is larger than our very own mortal existence.
